Japan Ski Resorts for Non-Skiers

Not everyone on a ski trip skis. If you're traveling with a partner, parent, or friend who's happy to sit this one out, the resort you pick matters just as much for them as it does for the skier in the group — a resort with nothing but a mountain and a convenience store makes for a long, boring day.

This is one of the areas where Japan's ski resorts vary the most: some are built around a genuine hot-spring town with centuries of history, others have amusement parks, and some really are just a mountain. The resorts below all have at least a few concrete things for a non-skier to do — we've listed exactly what, rather than a vague "resort amenities" claim.
